Winter and Christmas are nearly a month away but we’re already in the holiday spirit at Trinity Altoona!
Thanks to our generous sponsors, we will once again have Christmas Trees displayed in our sanctuary this holiday season. The trees will be purchased from J&B Tree Farms Wednesday November 27 and decorated Friday November 29 at 6PM.
Sunday December 1 marks the first Sunday of Advent and we’ll be celebrating with our traditional Cookie and Coffee Hour following the 8:15AM AND 10:45AM services. Please join us for caffeine, sweets and fellowship every Sunday during Advent 🙂
A classic holiday tradition returns to Trinity Altoona this year. We will be participating in the Spirit of Christmas Parade, Thursday December 5 from 6-8PM in Downtown Altoona. For more info, contact Adam Counterman at doormanadam@yahoo.com.
Christmas is approaching fast but there’s still time to order your poinsettias! The cost is $10 each and order envelopes are located on the back table in the sanctuary. Last chance to purchase is Sunday December 8.
The Triniteens Youth Group will be offering a little break for parents to get some shopping done over the holidays! They’ll be hosting a Movie Night for Children in kindergarten through sixth grade on Friday, December 13th from 6 to 8:30PM. Parents can take a break as their kids enjoy popcorn and hot chocolate while watching The Polar Express. The cost will be $5 per child, with proceeds going towards the Triniteens trip to the 2021 ELCA Youth Gathering in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The Social Ministry Committee and Healthy You Group are teaming up to bake and sell Christmas Cookies this weekend, December 14-15. Cookie plates will be sold in quantities of one ($4), two ($8) and three ($12) dozen cookies with proceeds going to Trinity’s general fund.
Trinity Altoona’s Family Choir will be holding their rehearsal this Sunday December 15 at 11:45AM, featuring performers ages 12 and up. They will be performing the following Sunday, December 22, during the 10:45AM service. That same service will also include our ever-popular Sunday School Christmas Pageant.
Please celebrate the joy of Christmas by attending our traditional Christmas Eve Worship Service Tuesday December 24 at either 7PM or 10PM. Feel free to come back in your jammies for our morning service, 9AM Christmas Day.
The next meeting of our Triniteens youth group is coming up Sunday January 5 2020 from 5-6:30PM. All junior and senior high kids are welcome. Check out Triniteens.com and join us for fun and fellowship 🙂
Our regular weekly activities include the Sewing Group (Mondays 10AM-2PM), Adult Bible Study (Tuesdays 9-10AM, Wednesdays 7-8PM), the Healthy You Program (Tuesdays and Fridays 10AM), the Crochet Group (Tuesdays 6PM) and the Prayer Breakfast (Thursdays 9AM).
