Christmas is only days away and we have a full weekend of events in store at Trinity Altoona. Tonight (Friday) is all about the kids, starting with a Pizza Bar Fundraiser Dinner in Trinity Hall from 5:30 to 6:30PM. The cost is only $5 and all monies raised go to help send our Trinity youth to the ELCA Youth Gathering in Houston next summer. Christmas Concert Kicks off December at Trinity

The Johnstown Brassworks will present a free holiday music concert at Trinity Altoona, Sunday December 3 at 3PM. The quintet is comprised of Joshua Brumbaugh (Tuba), Jerrod Cannistraci (French Horn), Jason June (Tuba), Eric Pfeil (Trumpet) and Rebekah Stombaugh (Trumpet). Their repertoire includes traditional hymns, classical music, jazz and contemporary songs. Funding for the concert is being provided by the Dr. William Sunderman Endowment, so there is no charge for admission. Sunderman is a deceased member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Light refreshments will be served after the concert.

Share The Joy of a Toy This Christmas

Christmas is coming and Trinity Altoona is once again happy to be a part of the Toys for Tots campaign. Our mission is to help every child receive “The Joy of a Toy!” The Toys for Tots collection will continue through Sunday December 3. Ready to start your Christmas shopping? The Trinity Stitchers sewing group is holding their annual Christmas Bazaar tomorrow, Saturday November 4, from 9AM to 3PM in Trinity Hall. Choose from a variety of unique handmade gifts, including change purses, soup bowl cozies and table runners. They’ll also be serving lunch and a selection of baked goods for dessert.

The holidays are over and we’re looking for some Trinity family volunteers to help undecorate our church this Friday, January 6 at 6PM. Encore Strings will present a free concert of holiday chamber music at Trinity Lutheran, Sunday December 11 at 3PM. The quartet is comprised of violinists Stephanie Everett and Jennifer Pappal, violist Melanie Ramsey and cellist James Nackley. Help Decorate Trinity for Christmas

We’re looking for some Trinity family volunteers to decorate our beautiful church for Christmas! Our plan is to bring the tree down from the attic and set it up this Friday, November 25 at 6PM. We’ll need a few strong men (and women!) to complete this task. Then on Saturday morning November 26 at 9AM, we will decorate the tree and the rest of the church.
